This was done at the group painting yesterday. I like the jug and shadow but not happy with the tall brown pot. I should have left it to dry before working on the background. Patience is something I have to learn.
Acrylic on paper 10.5″ x 10.5″. This old pair of boots is the most comfortable footwear that I have ever had. I wear them almost every day for four years.
A little 8″x8″ acrylics painting using a technique that I’ve learned from the short course at the Watts Gallery. During the tea break of the last lesson, our tutor showed us two of her initial steps of her portrait painting technique. Basically it is dry brush the mid tone to serve as guides for dark and highlights. It was too late for me then because I was too far down the wrong track already. I think I gave it a try and found that extremely helpful.
This year the camellias are particular good. The white one, I believe it is called Camellia Japonica, is the first to open. The below is a 8″x8″ acrylic study on canvas board.
Recently attended a demo of oil pastel by a local artist. I was tempted to have a go.
