Just came back from a week sailing holiday in the middle region of Croatia. We also managed to have a bit of sight seeing everyday after mooring. There are many interesting historic buildings, food was excellent, people were friendly. A very impressive country.
I also have done some quick sketching too.
I had enjoyed going out sketching with friends of my local art group during the summer. Most are in my A4 cartridge sketch book. Some one on 140g NOT watercolour paper.
The A4 watercolour was based on the previous drawing of a cutting from my garden.
Unfortunately, I had not been feeling well the last few days, nothing serious but not well enough to sketch. So I failed my own daily sketch challenge the start. Anyway, nothing stops me picking it up again later. Meanwhile I just do what I can. Yesterday, I did a pencil drawing of a porcelain statue of a goddess of mercy I bought from my last holiday in Hong Kong.

I gathered some very ripe pears from the fruit bowl. I did a pencil outline first and do the rest wet-on-wet.

These shells were collected from different trips. They reminded me good times. The sketch is also no underline pencil drawing. It is on 150g watercolour A4 paper.

I continued with my no line watercolour sketch approach. I found this little statue with not smooth contours challenging.
