For this exercise you’ll work towards creating an image in a single colour – combining natural and man-made objects and contrasting materials.
This is the final drawing after a few failed attempts. I used a variation of graphite pencils on A3 cartridge paper with a little watercolour pencil. I deliberately leave some of the top vertical lead and surrounding walls uncompleted because I want to keep the eye movements inside the paper. The shadows were a bit inconsistent because the light have moved over the period. However, I am quite pleased with the various texture of the stained glass panels.
I am grateful for some very useful constructive comments and suggestions from a fellow student to the original drawing of this posting. I have worked on it and here is a revised image. I think the drawing is more lively.
